Nursing Team Leader

Gillian

Gillian joined the practice in 1989 and is now our Nursing Team Leader.

Included in her responsibilities is the ordering of veterinary medicines and other supplies from our wholesaler.

At present her own pets include 2 cats, Amber and Minstrel, a hamster called Bagel and a 16 year old goldfish affectionately known as "Monster"!

Listed Veterinary Nurses

Listed Veterinary Nurses are required to have completed 2 years training,portfolio work and examinations under the RCVS

Ian RVN

Ian started working part time with us in 1999 but has been full time since 2004.

He completed his VN training in 2008 so is a qualified "listed" Veterinary Nurse. Ian helps run the weight clinics and puppy parties.

Ian has a special interest in exotics as he has his own water dragon and tropical fish

Sharon

Sharon has been working with us since September 2007 after having completed her first year VN training in Glasgow and Edinburgh

.

She qualified in spring 2010.

Sharon has a special interest in dog behaviour and participates locally in dog agility with her dog Martti.

Auxiliary Nursing Staff

Shelley

Shelley has been with the practice since the nineties and is now working full time.

She has special interest in rearing of puppies and kittens.

Outside of work Shelley looks after her horse Basil, 2 dogs 2 cats and a baby, which keep her busy!

Jolene

Jolene has been working at Blackness Vets as a Nursing assistant since December 2008. Outside of work Jolene enjoys meeting up with her friends and looking after her 3 cats and her dog.
