Staff : Office Staff

The office staff play a key part in keeping life at Blackness surgery flowing smoothly.

They will be your first contact when you phone up for an appointment and can help you with advice on services we offer, flea and worm products and other general enquiries.

They will take your orders for repeat prescriptions and will put up your prescription for a vet to check before collection.

They also deal with payments, accounts, insurance claims and the myriad of paperwork that needs the be kept in order.

More than anything they will be a friendly face who has seen your pet at every stage of its life with all the ups and downs life can bring.

We could not manage without our office staff and, although our nurses will fill in when needed, the true stars are our permanent staff consisting of:

Practice Manager

Alfred Barnard

Alfred is married to Barbara Barnard the Practice Principal and has been Practice Manager since 1995.

He takes care of the book-keeping and accounts as well as helping out on reception in the afternoons or whenever needed.

In his spare time Alfred enjoys mountaineering in Scotland and the Alps.

Alfred and Barbara have 2 border collies aged 3 and 11 and 2 rescued cats.

Receptionists

Jackie.

       Jackie will be well known to most of you as she has worked in reception since 1980.

Michaelene

Michaelene has been with the practice since 1989 when Miss Cameron was still practice principal.

Although originally part of the nursing staff she now mainly works on reception.

Susan

Susan is one of our 2 new receptionists, she works with us mostly evenings and Saturday mornings

Cath

Cath is the other new receptionist, She works during the daytime, but also some evenings and weekends.
