Services : Weight Clinics

If you are having trouble keeping your pets weight down why not come along to our free weight clinics. These are run by Ian by appointment over a Wednesday lunchtime.

We will weigh your pet accurately and ask for detailed information about your pets usual feeding and exercise routine; from this information we can devise a weight loss plan.

This may mean recommending a special prescription diet available at the surgery if your pet needs a little bit extra help to slim down.

Sometimes your pets usual diet can be altered slightly and we can offer some good tips and ideas on how to make the changes.

As we like to monitor your pets' weight so it is lost in a slow safe manner we would advise you to come in every two to four weeks for a weigh-in and a chat.

If your pet has not been seen by a vet recently we would ask that you make an appointment with one of our vets first as there are a number of medical conditions that may predispose to weight gain.

It is in your pets best interest to rule out any underlying disorders and you may find if these are controlled a diet will be more effective.
